Parallax
A cup of water,
Half full, half empty.
I say, half full.
You say, half empty.
Parallax, meaning "alternation" in Greek, is the apparent shift of an object against a background due to a change in the position of the observer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax). In a philosophical sense, parallax refers to a change in perspective or points of view when looking at the same subject. The poems I compiled here were written in different periods of my life after I became a Christian. In addition, these poems were written in a variety of poetic forms such as couplet, pantoum, free verse, etc. Moreover, they address various subjects in the Christian faith such as salvation, faith, worship, etc. To summarize, the poems I will be posting exhibit a triple parallax, where my devotion to God is viewed through the simultaneous shifting of three different lenses: time, format, and subject.
